A thorough and beautifully illustrated revision at the genus level for the complex group of the Ephippigerinae. This results in many species being transferred to other genera. Several of them are newly described, like Albarracinia, Coracinotus, Lucasia and Luciapomaresius . The paper also contains many new insights at the (sub) species level. For example the western and eastern European populations of Ephippiger ephippiger are called E. diurnus and E. ephippiger respectively. For both species several subspecies are recognised/reinstated.
